Verslify — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Verslify ("the Service," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our lyric-writing workspace. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (handled via Supabase Auth), used to create and secure your account.
• User Content: the lyrics, lyric version history, tags, personal/journal notes, and beat reference links (YouTube/SoundCloud URLs) you create within the Service. This is stored as plain text only — we do not host or store audio files.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to Pro Vault Pass, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves — Razorpay handles and stores that information under its own privacy and security practices.
• Usage data: basic technical data such as login timestamps, device/browser type, and IP address, used for security and service reliability.
• Local-only data: if you load a local MP3 beat file to play while writing, that file stays in your browser's memory for the current session only. It is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Provide and operate the Service (saving your lyrics, folders, versions, and notes)
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Process subscription payments and manage your Free Vault / Pro Vault Pass tier status
• Communicate service-related notices (billing, security, changes to these policies, or advance notice if the Service is ever discontinued)
• Improve and maintain the reliability of the Service

We do not sell your personal information or your User Content to third parties, and we do not use your lyrics or notes to train any AI/ML.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following processors to operate Verslify:

• Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and storage infrastructure
• Razorpay — payment processing and subscription billing

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function (e.g., Razorpay receives billing/payment details; Supabase stores your account and User Content data) and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law.

5. Data Storage and Security

• All User Content is stored as plain text in our Supabase database, protected by industry-standard access controls and encryption in transit.
• We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
• Local, session-only beat playback data (per Section 2) never leaves your device and is cleared automatically when you close the site.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and User Content for as long as your account remains active, so that your lyrics, version history, and notes stay available to you. See Section 7 for what happens if you delete your account, and our Terms and Conditions for what happens if the Service itself is discontinued.

7. Account Deletion — Permanent and Irreversible

Your account settings include a Delete Account option. Using it will:

• Permanently delete all of your data — your account, all songs, all lyric versions, all folders, all tags, all personal/journal notes, and all beat reference links.
• This action cannot be undone. Once you confirm account deletion, we have no way to recover or restore your data, and no backup copy is retained by us for the purpose of restoring your account.
• We strongly recommend exporting or backing up anything you want to keep before using the Delete Account button.
• Deletion is limited to removing your data from our active systems; any data Razorpay retains for its own legal/financial record-keeping obligations (e.g., past payment/transaction records) is governed by Razorpay's own policies and retention requirements, not ours.

8. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate account information
• Export your User Content
• Delete your account and data, as described in Section 7
• Withdraw consent for optional communications (e.g., marketing emails, if applicable)

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below this age.

10. International Users

If you access the Service from outside India, your information will be processed on servers that may be located in India or other regions used by our hosting provider (Supabase). By using the Service, you consent to this processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least [15] days before they take effect.
